RAGGING - A SOCIAL CRIME
The AJ Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore over the years has worked towards eradicating ragging from its roots. Our mission is to end this social crime through awareness, education and implementation of stringent rules.
Ragging is ''Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not to do in ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to diversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student''.
As a guiding light to the young dentists the Honourable Supreme Court of India has made it mandatory for every student to visit www.amanmovement.org or http://antiragging.in/ and fill the online anti-ragging affidavit. On completing the submission, the student shall receive a copy of the same in the mail, comprising of two parts. One part to be signed by the admitting student and the other by the parent/ guardian. The signed affidavit copy mandatorily has to be submitted to the college office within one week of admission.
To establish an interactive and friendly environment the college authorities have formed the anti-ragging committee, who are dedicated towards the students and can be approached in their time of need. Click here for details.
