The department of conservative dentistry and endodontics came into existence at A.J Institute of dental sciences since the inception of the institute in 2002. It deals with with diagnosis and Conservative Management of teeth. This speciality involves the restoration of decayed teeth of various stages including esthetic restoration, pulp space therapy, post and core, veneers, bleaches and endodontic sugeries.

Dr.GreeneVardiman Black, commonly known as Dr. G.V. Black is known as the Father Of Operative Dentistry. Operative dentistry is the area of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases or trauma to teeth .The main aim of the Department of Operative Dentistry is to provide the knowledge, technical skills, critical thinking and judgment for the diagnosis, prevention and management of dental caries, non-carious dental defects (attrition, abrasion, erosion, abfraction, developmental abnormalities, discoloration, and trauma), and elective esthetic smile enhancements.

Dr. Louis I Grossman is known as the Father of Endodontics. Endodontics is that branch of dentistry that is concerned with the morphology, physiology and pathology of the human dental pulp and periradiculartissues.The scope of endodontics includes the differential diagnosis and treatment of oral pain of pulpal or periradicular origin; vital pulp therapy, such as pulp capping and pulpotomy; nonsurgical treatment of root canal systems with or without periradicularpathosis of pulpal origin and the obturation of these root canal systems; selective surgical removal of pathological tissues resulting from pulpal pathosis; repair procedures related to such surgical removal of pathological tissues, intentional replantation and replantation of avulsed teeth, surgical removal of tooth structure, endodontic implants, bleaching of discolored dentin and enamel; retreatment of teeth previously treated endodontically; restorations by post and cores involving the root canal space.
