Welcome to the web page of the Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, A.J Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore. The mission of the department is to provide the academic basis and environment that allows students, fellows and staff to excel in research and diagnostic methodologies. It has been the backbone of many other departments in providing the much needed information for the oral health of patients as well as in detecting many diseases and cancers of Head and Neck region.

This subject is the first phase with regards to the dental subjects which begins with Dental Anatomy and stretches to Oral Pathology at both Undergraduate and Post graduate levels. Research activities are added features in spreading the spark and fame of the department and institution.

We hope to serve as a national model for excellence through innovation on ways to improve oral health by building the firmest of foundations of education, research and service to the community. The teaching faculty are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed to teaching excellence. We pride ourselves on being a dynamic driven team, who are devoted to and passionate about the field of Oral Pathology and strive for excellence in all that we do.

The department also assigns various scientific projects, short studies and seminars to students in order to enhance their presentation skills in various National, International and State level Conferences.

The challenges and changes overtime has brought us to where we are today and we continue to strive to shape the future of dentistry.
